A thought especially for the children, the exhibition: “Frida and I” brings all the family in the tracks of the famous Mexican artist.
Since October 17th, ‘Frida and I’ has opened at Georges Pompidou centre. This is an event particularly dedicated to children, as they are currently on holidays.
The exhibition is divided into six main notions: Family, Nature, Pain, Trips, Diego Riviera – her husband – and her own portraits.
The colorful paintings make the artist’s world accessible to children.
At the same time, we can find Frida Khalo’s art at the museum of Orangerie.
Frida Khalo is a worldwide famous painter, known especially for her self-portraits.
Her work has been celebrated in Mexico because it is registered in the Indigenous tradition and it is widely supported by feminists. André Breton – an initiator of surrealism- depicted Khalo’s art as “ ribbon around a bomb”.
