New York based English artist Banksy has published on his (http://www.banksyny.com) a criticism of the One World Trade Center building in New York. The article, originally written as a press box for The New York Times was refused by the newspaper. Banksy explains that terrorism has won because there is another skyscraper in N-Y City, the One World Trade Center. “That building is a disaster”, he argues. To denounce this, he made a comparison with Urban Art. “The biggest eyesore in New York is not the graffiti, it’s under construction at ground zero”. His last paintings deliver a clear symbol: “This site contains blocked messages” with the same typography that the newspaper The New York Times. In the artist’s opinion, the project to replace the twin towers has been controversial from the start. The question remains the same: should this place have been left empty as a memorial?
