Rennes-Marseille : End of fairy tale for Olympique de Marseille ?

Marseille was beaten once again yesterday in Rennes 2-1. It is the second failure in one week for the leader of the French Ligue 1. After a short defeat last Sunday against Lyon (1-0), it’s the first time this season that the men of Marcelo Bielsa know the setback twice in a row.
Interrogations can come about the capacity of Marseille to keep the same rhythm for a whole season. Indeed, this bad series could influence the fighting spirit educated by the Argentinian coach.

Om BielsaIt is important to note that in both cases the team faced strong opponents (Marseille last week) and in general, are in a pretty good fit. In addition, both games were played away.

Although, this defeat seems to affect Bielsa and his team: « This defeat makes me very sad (…)», even more because it was a new competition where Marseille usually does very well (three times League Cup winner).

By conceding this another defeat, the coach is decided to rethink its position and strategy : « Two defeats in a row oblige us to rethink our tactics». Fortunately, for Marseille, another match is coming up this Sunday against Lens, an opportunity for the leader to think forward and keep its leader position.
