The Parisian club PSG qualified for the 8th final with 2-1 against FC Bâle, Tuesday, November 1.

After Blaise Matuidi’s first goal in the 43rd minute, PSG thought victory was slipping away when Luca Zuffi equalized for the Swiss in the 76th minute. However, the Parisians managed to score a second goal at the end of the match.

The first period could have had a better outcome for PSG, if it hadn’t been for their captain Thiago Silva’s slight injury, after he crashed with Areola remaining for long minutes on the ground. The Brazilian took over the course of the game but did not return after the break having been replaced by Krychowiak.

As the match descended into some trouble, a miracle managed to revive it. The first goal in the 43rd minute by Matuidi but that wasn’t enough to save the victory.

Tomas Meunier: “I had to try”

It was in the 90th minute that Thomas Meunier offered the best goal, which saved the PSG. He declared after the match “I had to try!”

And it is in this way that PSG is now qualified for the 8th final of the champions league.

The first spot will be played against Arsenal on November 23.
