Finnish player Roman Eremenko was suspended for two years from all competitions by UEFA after a positive anti-doping test for cocaine. He was checked after the Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen (2-2) on 14 September.

Marco Casagrande, Secretary General of the Finnish Football Association, said: “We deeply regret the behavior of Roman Eremenko” but “if Roman Eremenko needs support to solve his problems, we are here to help.”

A few days ago, another player was in the viewfinder. Ezequiel Lavezzi, former PSG player, was accused by a reputed radio reporter of having consumed marijanua during the last training course of the Argentine team.

Many cases exist concerning the use of drugs by high-level athletes.
