The U.S president violently attacked the media for an hour, calling them dishonest.
“The press has become so dishonest that if we don’t talk about it, we are doing a tremendous disservice to the American people, tremendous disservice.” In a press conference in the White House that lasted more than an hour Thursday, Donald Trump attacked journalists. He accused media of being hostile and dishonest in their reporting on his first month in office, while his statement was to address the appointment of a new Minister of Labor.
“We have to talk to find out what’s going on, because the press honestly is out of control. The level of dishonesty is out of control,” Trump said. The U.S president assured that when he turns on the TV, when he opens the newspapers, he sees “Stories of chaos. Chaos,” he said. “Yet it is the exact opposite. This administration is running like a fine-tuned machine, despite the fact that I can’t get my cabinet approved.”
Donald Trump concentrated much of his attacks on CNN, one of his favorite targets. He even renamed the reporters of CNN by “very fake news”. Donald Trump also called stories about his campaign advisers’ communications with Russia “fake news”. He said the New York Times was failing: “You’re the one that wrote about them and reported them, I mean the leaks are real. You know what they said, you saw it and the leaks are absolutely real. The news is fake because so much of the news is fake.”
