Shadow employment in French far-right: the Olaf report charges Marine Le Pen

The presidential candidate admitted to the European investigators that she contracted a false employment status for her bodyguard according to a report revealed by the press.

Pushed by the revelations of the OLAF report unveiled yesterday by Mediapart and Marianne, the European deputy finally admitted to the anti-fraud organization of the EU to have falsely employed her bodyguard, Thierry Légier, as parliamentary assistant.

She also allegedly produced a false employment contract on behalf of Catherine Griset, a long-time friend and collaborator, giving her a position of parliamentary assistant accredited in Brussels, while she was her personal assistant at the bureau of her party in France since December 2010.

The European Parliament was supposed to begin the recovery of the sums paid to Thierry Légier and Catherine Griset in mid-February, cutting off Marine Le Pen’s pay by half.
